I absolutely agree that the next phase of life is best when planned well. However, that word has got to go. Retirement. It has a terrible connotation and isn't truly accurate anymore.

Over 80% of baby boomers say that don't plan to retire in the traditional sense. We're retooling the concept of golden years into a time when, yes, there are endless summer days, and those days are filled with excitement over new adventures, businesses, relationships.

It's a heady, yet scary feeling to know you have 30+ years to 'play with'. I'm writing about my own transition on my blog. My 'retirement' is earlier than most and less than my choice, which makes it fraught with dilemmas and challenges for me and my marriage. Happily, there are also surprises like the glee I feel in creating my own best life from scratch.

When I get frustrated, because I do, I recall a quote by Rainer Maria Rilke. It sits right next to my desk for inspiration.

Be patient. Unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves.

Thanks for reminding me to love the journey!

I like the way you remember the feeling of FREEDOM. Though it is endless summer now, I would say keep remain the feeling of freedom as it is endless feeling too.

We need retirement plan. Absolutely right. However, we can draw a new plan every minute to live our remaining life joyful. Life is too short if we have big dream.

Please kindly accept a little gift from me. http://www.thedreamsmovie.com/
